Meet the friendly team From Hawkesbury Sport and Spine

Dr Mark Smith

Chiropractor - B.Chiro Sc., M. Chiro

Mark developed a love for sports at a young age. Throughout his early studies he harboured a strong passion for studying anatomy and health and sought to establish these interests in a profession that would allow the opportunity to provide quality health care to the community.

Mark enrolled at Macquarie University in 2009 and relished the 5 years spent studying a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science and Masters of Chiropractic. The programs equipped him with the knowledge to accurately diagnose a diverse range of neurological, muscular and skeletal conditions and the tools to appropriately manage them. With these skills, Mark has assisted in the management of the Macquarie University Rugby and Sydney Grammar Basketball teams. He was also involved in providing care to athletes at the 2014 Australian Beach Volleyball Championships and Eastern University Games. Furthermore, he has applied his interests to act as a sports trainer for countless local sporting organisations in the years since.

Mark strongly believes that injuries are not isolated conditions and prides his consultations on the delivery of holistic health care tailored to each individual after a thorough assessment. In order to achieve optimal results for his clients he implements the use of diversified adjustments, Thompson drop piece and activator in conjunction with soft tissue work, rehabilitation exercises and lifestyle advice. Mark enjoys the challenges of encountering a diverse population, although he finds interacting with individuals who are performing at the peak of their ability particularly rewarding. He recognises that it requires not only efficiency to firstly analyse, process and treat a range of acute injuries, but also an extensive knowledge of the most effective treatment protocols to manage an athlete’s condition and allow them to perform to the best of their ability. He translates this mindset into the management of all individuals to allow the fulfillment of their personal goals whilst aiming to instill his passion for health and wellbeing in every person he encounters.

Dr Cassandra Crunkhorn

Chiropractor - B.Chiro Sc., M.Chiro

Cassie is an energetic, bubbly and caring chiropractor who developed her passion for human anatomy at a young age. Growing up in the Hawkesbury, this provided many opportunities to follow her love of music and sports. Starting at Kurrajong Bilpin Little Athletics in 2000 and continuing on through every sport she could, including soccer and softball. This shaped her formative education with time spent at school as sports captain and appearing in every team and ensemble she could participate in.

Through injuries of her own and a diagnosis of scoliosis, Cassie was introduced to the world of osteopathy and chiropractic. It was here that she fell in love with the idea of helping people to improve the functionality of their body for both everyday life and sporting activities. In 2015, Cassie enrolled at Macquarie University in a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science where she thrived whilst learning and went on to complete a Master of Chiropractic.

Cassie provides a holistic approach to treating the human body using diversified adjusting techniques, soft tissue methods, musculoskeletal dry needling and rehabilitation. She is passionate about the human body and how to best help people to understand their injuries and the importance of a holistic healthy lifestyle.
